Located on the Central Florida east coast, RDS Recording is a state of the art analog and digital recording studio. The studio was professionally designed by Lou Clark of sonic space located in New Hampshire. The design includes a Live room with a “Live and “dead” end an Isolation booth and a state of the art control room. The control room is centered around an SSL analogue/digital aws console. SSL consoles are used on countless hit records. Artists like Rush, Dave Mathews , 2 PAC have all recorded records on SSL consoles.

Control room
It is so important to be able to hear exactly what you are recording and RDS’s control room is designed for that purpose. If you can’t hear it when your recording you can’t make informed musical decisions. The Adam soffit mounted monitors are 2nd to none in frequency response and true audio reproduction. The studio is running Pro Tools HDX 12 the latest state of the art recording software used on just about every hit since the digital recording revolution. High quality Lynx converters are the best in the business and provide 32 simultaneous in and out channels.
Gear
A generous array of high quality outboard gear will help craft your sound. The tube based Avalon compressor will give a nice warm sound on vocals as well as just about any audio source. The Summit Audio DCL-200 is a stereo tube hybrid compressor and has helped shape the sound of countless records for decades. The Classic DBX 160x is a vintage compressor well known for it’s ability to add that classic sound on bass and guitar. The Urei 1176LN has been a studio staple for decades. Used on records by artists such as Led Zeppelin and Michael Jackson just name a few. The Urei LA4a is great for so many audio sources. We are constantly adding to our array of outboard gear.
Live room
The live room can accommodate a full rhythm section. We utilize the Hear Monitoring system which allows each musician to mix 8 different sources for their own headphone mix. The Live room boasts live and dead ends for multiple recording options. The studio’s microphone locker is wide ranging. From the vintage Neumann u-47 probably the most record microphone for vocals, purple badge u-87, km184’s to akg 414’s condensers, the colorful royer 121 and peluso ribbons are perfect for capturing guitars, Sehennheiser md 421’s sure beta 52 ar all staples for capturing the true sound of drums. Multiple drum kits are available from the 1980’s yamaha recording series to the vintage 1940’s era WFL kit. Multiple snare drums will give you the many options for the sound you are looking for.
World Class
You will have a world class Berklee trained audio engineer helping you through the entire process. Pat has years of professional engineering and production experience. He also has toured the world with very successful bands and knows what great audio is supposed to sound like.

Here at RDS studio we also offer full production services. One of the most important things you can do in preparing to record is pre-production.
